Do You Remember Navy SEAL Michael Murphy?
Michael Murphy is a war hero who gave his life for this country. Now the Navy is naming a ship after him. Here's the scoop.

I didn’t know who he was until one of my client’s told me his story. I was intrigued by his willingness to help others first before he helped himself.
For those of you who don’t remember, Michael Murphy was a young man, 29, from Long Island. He was a Navy officer and was stationed in Afghanistan.
One day, he was on watch with his crew of three other men. A group of civilians walked by. He let them pass. Before he and his team knew it, 50 nationals ambushed them.

Even though he was shot, Michael Murphy called in for help. He wanted to protect his team. He stood up to get a radio signal knowing the danger involved, wanting to make sure that his team survived. He was able to make the call but was shot down in the process and was killed.
In his memory, the Navy has named a ship after him. The ship, USS Michael Murphy, will be in New York City on October 6th for a commissioning. The crew and their families are invited. However, the Navy cannot pay for the families to attend and most of them cannot afford the cost to come.

That is why when my client asked me to help on a probono basis, I jumped at the opportunity. Who wouldn’t want to help someone who gave of himself or herself in the protection of others?
I started an Indiegogo account and put the campaign on it. I figured that if the bus monitor can raise $650,000, the crewman’s families could raise $50,000. This money will go toward paying their travel expenses to attend the ceremony.
At the ceremony, there will be a tribute to Navy SEAL, Michael Murphy and his fellow comrades.
I would love for you to take a look at the campaign. If you can't donate, you can help us by spreading the word to your friends and loved ones. Here’s the link: http://www.indiegogo.com/MichaelMurphyCommissioning?a=745003
In my heart, I feel that it’s important to honor those who give their lives for our country. I know that you probably feel the same way.
