Call for Photographers: “Laughing Out Loud” Exhibit at Art League
Amateur and Professional Photographers from the Tri-State area are invited to submit applications by May 30!

Photographers from the Tri-State area, including amateur and practicing photographers, are invited to submit applications to participate in the Art League of Long Island’s upcoming juried photo exhibition titled “Laughing Out Loud”. The exhibit is scheduled to be on display June 29 through August 4 in the Art League’s spacious Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery.
Don’t we all need a good laugh? Recent studies show that indulging your sense of humor can help you live a longer, healthier life. Laughing not only eases stress, it promotes social bonding, and lowers blood pressure. Your camera lens may capture an image that promotes a smile, giggle or, perhaps, a belly laugh. Silly animals, goofy kids, a wild event, a good laugh will recharge your batteries! Images created via any form of photography will be accepted for consideration (i.e. shot on film, shot digitally, unaltered shots, alternative process, mixed media, digital manipulations, montages, photograms, etc.) as long as part of the image is photographically created and the photo was taken by the artist. The deadline to submit applications is May 30, 2019.
The exhibition juror is Alex Ferrone, of the Alex Ferrone Gallery of Cutchogue, NY. Based on the North Fork of New York, Alex Ferrone’s Gallery presents fine art photographic works by mid-career and emerging artists. Ferrone is also an independent Curator and Juror, as well as a commercial and fine art aerial photographer. Ferrone’s works have been published widely internationally in various magazines including Wine Spectator, Architectural Digest, Vanity Fair Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and Pinhole Journal; have been featured on TV; and have also been highlighted in numerous online magazines. Alex Ferrone has had solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums in New York, Texas, Florida, and in Italy, and her works are held in private collections in the United States, Italy and France.
