Candlewood Middle's James Wallace Named to National U-14 Developmental Football Team
Selected to team for his outstanding football skill, leadership and character.
A Candlewood Middle School student athlete has been selected to the 2013 U.S. Under-14 National Development Football Team.
James P. Wallace got the exciting news Monday in an email from USA Football.
"Your selection is based on your outstanding football skill, leadership and character," the letter reads.
James plays football and lacrosse at Candlewood. He also played for the Hills Pride Youth Football and Hills Youth Lacrosse programs, and is currently a peer coach for the Challenger Lacrosse Team for children with special needs.
Last summer he attended the USA Football Players Academy in Oceanside. His father said it was there where he was identified as a potential recruit for the U-14 National Developmental Team and was asked to attend their developmental camp/national team try out in Jamesburg, NJ last weekend.
As part of the national team, James will compete at Walsh University from June 29-July 5 at the 2013 International Development Games. He will be coached by former NLF players, NCAA coaches and top high school coaches.
Congrats James!
