Car Found On Fire Behind Ralph's Italian Ices

A driver and her young child managed to escape unharmed before the car became completely engulfed.

DIX HILLS, NY - The Dix Hills Fire Department responded to a car fire behind a Ralph's Italian Ices earlier this week.

The fire was reported at the local business on East Deer Park Road on Wednesday, March 27 at about 8:30 pm.

Firefighters arrived to a fully engulfed Mini Cooper in the back parking lot.

The driver and her young child safely escaped the car uninjured when the fire started.

Two rescue engines and an ambulance were dispatched and under the direction of Assistant Chiefs Brett Tepe and Scott DiPino.
