Car Versus Pole: Pole Loses
There have been a number of vehicular accidents in Dix Hills this week.
Early this morning, at 500 Vanderbilt Pkwy, Dix Hills Fire Department Chief Tom Magno responded to a single-car accident involving an overturned car.
The car had hit a pole, and the pole and the LIPA wires were down. The driver was able to extricate himself from his vehicle without touching the live wires, Magno said.
He was uninjured but was then arrested for DWI.
