Chiefs Player's Wake Held in Dix Hills

Jovan Belcher was remembered at the Upper Room Christian World Center on Deer Park Avenue.

West Babylon native Jovan Belcher, who committed suicide after he shot and killed his girlfriend on Dec. 1, was remembered at the Upper Room Christian World Center in Dix Hills on Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.

Belcher, who was in his fourth year as a linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs, shot himself in the parking lot of the team's practice facility earlier this month.

AP also reported that photographers were turned away and that mourners leaving the wake didn't speak to reporters.
