DiaperBuds: A Diaper That's Easy to Travel With
HHH mom LeeAnn Piazzola invents something to help moms travel with young children.
LeeAnn Piazzola's sister Lynn was going away on a weekend trip with her kids a few years ago. She had one suitcase packed with clothes and one suitcase packed with...diapers.
"There's got to be a better way to travel with young kids," she thought. "Maybe we could vacuum pack the diapers."
So Lynn, LeeAnn and a third sister--between them they have nine children--put their heads together along with their money and came up with the idea for DiaperBuds, a travel diaper that is compact, clean and yet was still absorbent.

"They are high quality," LeeAnnPiazzola said. "These are not 'spare tire' diapers. They are regular diapers that have been vacuum sealed so that they take up less space and stay clean, because they are individually wrapped."
Piazzola remembers grabbing a diaper out of her diaper bag one time and seeing a lollypop stuck to it and vowed that these new diapers would stay clean. She said that DiaperBuds' packaging is recyclable and water- and dirt-proof.
"And once you get past the packaging, the diaper works," she said. "We've had very positive feedback about the quality of the diaper. We did all kinds of testing on the packaging and the diaper, to make sure everything worked and was high quality."
Right now you can buy the diapers online, at amazon.com or diapers.com. They hope to be in buybuy Baby and Babies R Us in a few months, Piazzola said, as well as in convenience stores and pharmacies.
You can buy the diapers in a small or large multipack, or for a short time, you can buy "a bud for a buck," Piazzola said. "We are trying to encourage people to sample it. The shipping is free so we hope they will try it, like it and then come back."
"I work seven days a week, but I love it," Piazzola added. "We've had sales in every state already. I think we've hit about something people want and need. It's very exciting."
