Dix Hills Fire Department To Hold 9/11 Blood Drive

DIX HILLS, NY — The Dix Hills Fire Department announced its 9/11 Blood Drive, scheduled for Wednesday.
The drive is set to run from 3 to 9 p.m. at Fire Headquarters, at 115 East Deer Park Road, Dix Hills, just north of the Northern State Parkway. The public is invited to donate blood, and donors will receive a free 9/11 commemorative t-shirt and pin. Walk-ins are welcome, or donors can make an appointment.
Donors are reminded to eat, drink and bring their donor ID card or ID with name and photo, according to the fire department.

The 20th Anniversary 9/11 Blood Drive is due to be held in the memory of Dix Hills Fire Chief Terry Farrell who was also a decorated member of FDNY Rescue Co. 4. He died in the 9/11 terror attacks at the World Trade Center.
