Dix Hills Has 2 New Eagle Scouts After Community Service Projects Done
Amardeep and Arjandeep Chahal, who are brothers, are celebrating their newly-minted Eagle Scout status.

DIX HILLS, NY — Dix Hills has two new Eagle Scouts in the community.
Amardeep and Arjandeep Chahal are set to celebrate their Eagle Court of Honor at noon on Saturday at the Dix Hills Fire House, at 115 Deer Park Road, Dix Hills, said their father, Harpreet Chahal. Harpreet Chahal is the Scoutmaster of Troop 309 Dix Hills.
Amardeep achieved his Eagle rank on Sept. 8, 2020. He built a 70x4 pathway with pavers to help the elderly from the senior center to move their wheelchairs easily to get to the gazebo at the other end of Homecoming Farm. He held a car wash to raise funds to pay for the materials and supplies for the project. This project was completed in two days with the help of other Scouts and leaders from Troop 309.

Arjandeep achieved his on May 31. For his Eagle Scout project, he built four benches out of wood and donated them to Guru Gobind Singh Sikh Center of Plainview. This project was completed with the help of other Scouts and leaders’ guidance. He held a car wash to raise funds for his Eagle Scout project.
