His team qualified to the next round of the national competition.

A Dix Hills resident was a member of University at Buffalo’s winning team at the PwC Challenge, held on Oct. 30.

Hnu Thaper will share a $1,000 prize with his four other teammates, all of whom are juniors in UB’s School of Management accounting program.

About 60 School of Management students participated in the PwC Challenge, which helps students hone their analytical, problem-solving and teamwork skills by proposing solutions to a real-world business problem. The competition is sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
