Eagle Scout Hosts Dix Hills Blood Drive

Local residents can come donate blood for a good cause at the Dix Hills Fire Department headquarters this weekend.

The drive, organized by local Eagle Scout Anthony Armanuse, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Each donor will help save up to three lives.

The fire department is located at 115 East Deer Park Road, just north of the Northern State Parkway.

To be able to donate, you must meet the following requirements:

• Minimum weight 110 lbs.
• Age 16-75 (16-year-olds need parental permission form; 76+ need doctor’s note)
• No tattoos for past 12 months
• Eat well (low fat) and drink plenty of fluids before donating
• Bring signature or photo ID
