On Saturday September 3rd, the Long Island Roller Rebels will host the second annual Empire Skate Showdown at Skate Safe America located at 182 Old Bethpage Sweet Hollow Rd in Bethpage.
Nine New York Female teams will duke it out in over 16 challenge bouts to determine who is truly the Big Apple Champion! Teams participating are Gotham Girls' Wall Street Traitors (NYC NY), Assault City Roller Girls (Syracuse, NY), Ithaca Suffragettes (Ithaca NY), ROC City Roller Derby (Rochester, NY), Hudson Valley Horrors (Hudson Valley NY) Albany All Stars (Albany NY) Hellions of Troy Roller Derby (Troy NY), Central New York Roller Derby (Utica NY) and your very own Long Island Roller Rebels (Long Island, NY).
The day will start out with some Men's Derby when the New York Shock Exchange mixes it up in a full hour of Black vs. White. Doors are at 10am; the men's bout starts at 10:30am, Women's bouts starts at 12pm.
