Father-Son Duo Honored at Huntington Hospital's Black Tie Gala

The Weisses, who are in charge of a Melville-based real estate company, fundraised over $370,000 that will be used for hospital renovations.

Physicians, hospital trustees and major benefactors were among the 400 people who attended Huntington Hospital’s annual black tie gala at Oheka Castle on Friday evening.

This year’s honorees were the father and son team of Ted and Craig Weiss, who are in charge of T. Weiss Realty Corp., one of Long Island leading real estate development and management firms.

Ted Weiss said he was thrilled to share the honor with his son Craig. “Being named co-honorees for the 2015 Huntington Hospital gala is a distinction few fathers and sons have the opportunity to share,” Ted said in a press release.

Construction on the hospital’s new emergency wing has already started and it is expected to be completed in 2016, coinciding with the hospital’s 100-year anniversary celebration.

“I am delighted to be an honoree for the gala and I am eagerly anticipating working with Huntington Hospital to raise awareness and the necessary funding for future improvements,” said Craig Weiss, who joined the family business in 2007 and now serves as the company’s president.

T. Weiss Realty is a Melville-based independent builder that owns and manages commercial real estate properties. The company’s portfolio includes 600,000 square feet of Class-A office space in Melville occupied by several Fortune 500 businesses, and a medical office building in Massapequa.
