Got Talent? Two HHH Students to Perform at DHPAC Huntington Arts Council Contest

Two Half Hollow Hills students will be competing this weekend in the Huntington Arts Council’s Third Annual Got Talent? Long Island competition finals.

Adara Mifsud is a 13-year-old Dix Hillian who has performed in more than 30 theater productions. She has received NYSSMA medals and was selected for SCMEA All County Festival for four years.

Adara was a finalist at Hills Idol and recorded with Cove City Recording Studio. She was also a guest singer on Cablevision Talent Showcase. When she's not singing she is a dancer and a member of a kickline competition team. Adara is also privately coached for on-camera film work with actress Lisa Regina. 

Lisa Diasparra is a 15-year-old freshman at HHH HS East and is already an award-winning singer. She has won four Hills Idol contests and has been featured on WBLI radio, in addition to winning her entire family a vacation. Her dream is to win "American Idol." She's planing on trying out for "Idol" and "X Factor." She said that singing is her life and is what she hopes to do. She taught herself piano and most of her singing is also self-taught, she said.  

Long Island’s aspiring artists will take the stage in front of a panel of celebrity judges on March 25, 2011 starting at 7:30 p.m. at the . Contestants from all across Long Island will compete for the winning title. All audience members will help decide who has what it takes to win the Audience Choice Award. This is an opportunity to see Long Island ’s future talent get their big break! 

Long Island ’s own News 12 reporter Judy Martin, a classically trained opera singer, will not only host the event but perform. Guest judges include “Weather Girls” singer Martha Wash,WFUV personality John Platt, Newsday's Glen Gamboa, Donna Drake from "Live it Up!" and Donna McKenna from Donna McKenna Casting. 

The top prize is a $500 cash award, an opening performance at the 46th Annual Huntington Summer Arts Festival, a $1,000 scholarship to , Head Shots by Len Marks Photography, an interview on Donna Drake ’s show “Live It Up!” and a walk-on role courtesy of Donna McKenna Casting. Other awards include the Audience Choice Award and Rising Star Awards.
