DIX HILLS, NY — Haley Sahadeo, a student at Half Hollow Hills East High School and member of the school's Key Club, organized a book drive over the holiday season and collected more than 1,000 books for Hindi's Libraries, a Long Island-based nonprofit organization that donates new and gently used children's book around the world.

Hindi's Libraries, formed in 2019, dedicates each donated book to Dr. Hindi Krinsky, a former English teacher and mother of 5 who suddenly died at the young age of 32. Since the organization launched, more than 85,000 books have been donated to 385 organizations around the world spanning across all 50 states, India, Israel and Puerto Rico.
