HHH HS West Siemens National Finalist Awarded Proclamation

The Town of Huntington presented the proclamation to senior Alice Wu.

A Half Hollow Hills High School West senior was presented a Town of Huntington proclamation in recognition of being named a 2016 Siemens Competition National Finalist.

The proclamation was presented to Alice Wu by the Town Board. Half Hollow Hills High School West Principal Dr. Michael Catapano was also present at the recent Town Board meeting.

“I am proud to honor Alice Wu in recognition of her becoming a 2016 Siemens Competition National Finalist,” Councilwoman Susan A. Berland said in a press release. “Alice’s research will positively impact the lives of others and she is an inspiration to us all. I wish her continued success in her future endeavors.”

In November, Wu was named a winner of the regional phase of the Siemens Competition held at the University of Notre Dame. In December, she presented her work at the National Finals in Washington, D.C.

Wu and two other Half Hollow Hills students were announced as 2016 semifinalists in the prestigious Siemens Competition in October. Wu was announced as a regional finalist a week following the announcement.
