HHH Middle School Principal Honored for Longtime Dedication

Andrew Greene has been principal at Candlewood since 1997.

The principal of Candlewood Middle School was recently honored for his many years of commitment and dedication to the students of the Half Hollow Hills School District.

Andrew Greene, who has been principal at Candlewood since 1997, was recognized by Legislator Steve Stern and the Half Hollow Hills PTA Council at the recent Candlewood PTA 50 Years of Excellence Dinner.

“Principal Greene has provided an invaluable service to our families of the Half Hollow Hills community,” Stern said in a press release. “I thank him for his many years of dedication and commitment to our children at Candlewood Middle School.”

In addition to serving the students at Candlewood, Greene is an adjunct professor at Stony Brook University and is the Co-President of the Administrators Association in the Half Hollow Hills School District.

Green’s career in education began as a music teacher and as an assistant principal at several school districts. Throughout his career, he has served as a past president of the Long Island Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and is currently the co-president of the Suffolk County Middle Level Principals Association.
