Hills Boys Swimming Beats Sachem North 92-86
Matthew DeBlasio broke the school record for 200-freestyle in with a time of 1:42.62
Top-ranked Half Hollow Hills defeated Sachem North Monday night, 92-86, to remain undefeated and move to 2-0 on the early season.
The Thundercolts came out strong against the Arrows, winning the first three races, including Matthew DeBlasio breaking the school record in the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:42.62. The old record, which according to head coach Jason Wiedersun was about a decade old, was 1:43.40.
Coach Wiedersun decided before the match that he would be putting his top performers in their top events. "This is a decently fast pool in the county, and the guys were rested due to the snow, and I wanted to see what they could do," he said.

Hills had a commanding 32-14 lead after the 200-individual medley.
The Arrows talied their first victory of the meet in the 50-freestyle, cutting the Thundercolts' lead to 41-21.

Jared Siegel took the 100-butterfly in 0:56.41.
The Thundercolts' biggest lead came after the 100-butterfly, which was won by Jared Siegel with a time of 0:56.41.
"We still have six more meets before the championship season rolls around," said Wiedersun. "A lot of the guys are going to see events they don't normally do. I expect our guys will continue to do well and keep on practicing. We'll take it meet by meet. We're looking to playoffs, but have to concentrate on the meets ahead of us before we can start thinking about that."
