Half Hollow Hills High School East quarterback RJ Nitti was honored as runner-up for the prestigious Boomer Esiason Award at the All County Awards Dinner.
The award is given each year to the top quarterback in Suffolk County. Nitti, who had a record breaking season, played in only seven games this past season because of injury, yet had the same total passing yardage as the winner, who played in 12 games including the playoffs.

Wide receiver DJ Paul was also honored as the recipient of the 12th Man Award, which goes to the player who had to overcome adversity.
Paul broke his leg before the 2011 football season, which required surgery, and missed the entire season. After much rehab and determination, he came back and led the team with 29 receptions for 630 yards and 8 touchdowns.
