Home's Garage Fire Snuffed Out By Dix Hills Fire Department
The blaze was contained to the garage of the one-story Dix Hills home.

DIX HILLS, NY — A fire broke out in the garage of a Dix Hills home Saturday afternoon. Dix Hills Fire Department volunteers got to the Baldwin Path one-story ranch home around 4 p.m., according to Steve Silverman, public information officer.
Firefighters doused the flames before they spread outside the garage. Third Assistant Chief Scott DiPino oversaw roughly 50 firefighters and rescue personnel who were dispatched with five trucks, three ambulances and a paramedic unit.
The Deer Park Fire Department helped at the home with a rapid intervention team, while standby coverage was provided by the Commack, Greenlawn and Melville fire departments. The Town of Huntington Cyanide Response Team was called to the home. Suffolk County Fire-Rescue Coordinators also helped at the scene.
