Injured Bicyclist Airlifted to Hospital After Falling in Dix Hills
The bicyclist suffered serious head trauma on Saturday, fire officials said.
A bicyclist suffered serious head trauma in Dix Hills and was airlifted to a nearby hospital after falling in Dix Hills on Saturday, according to fire officials.
Dix Hills Fire Department Rescue Squad received a report that a bicyclist was injured from a fall and was unconscious on Maryland Street at noon.
The rescue squad arrived to the scene to find the biker in a semi-conscious state with serious head trauma.

The person was taken to a landing zone at James E. Allen School and was then transferred to a Suffolk Police Medivac helicopter and airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center.
About 25 fire and rescue workers responded to the incident with three heavy rescue trucks, an ambulance and first responder and paramedic units, which were under the command of assistant chief Thomas Napolitano.
