Last Chance: King of the Hill Lax Tournament

Don't miss the annual fundraiser that helps offset costs for children with special needs.

Dozens of teams will compete to earn the title of "King of the Hill" in a lacrosse tournament today at High School East. Last year, the stands were packed with more than 2,500 people in attendance to watch 1,100 lacrosse players battle on the field.

The tournament is the main fundraiser for Hills Lacrosse, which helps offset expenses for  participants with special needs. The funds also provide gym time for kids during the off season and supports the high school teams.

This year's event is especially exciting for Challenger participants as the Hills team will merge with the Garden City team to represent Long Island. The local kids will go up against a team that is traveling from Maryland for the tournament. It will be the first time that three lacrosse teams for developmentally disabled athletes will be meeting.
