Man Charged With Doing Donuts For Large Group In Melville: Police

The man was doing donuts among several other vehicles while numerous pedestrians watched, police say.

MELVILLE, NY — A man was arrested in Melville Saturday night under a new Suffolk County vehicle and traffic code after he performed stunts in public with his car, police said.

In response to numerous community complaints, officers were monitoring several areas for unlawful street gatherings when they came upon a large group of vehicles in Melville around 10:15 p.m., police said.

Officers saw Asad Zulfiqar, 24, of Brooklyn, performing donuts as he drove a 2024 BMW M3 Competition among several other vehicles while numerous pedestrians watched, police said.

Zulfiqa was arrested and charged with unlawful stunt behavior in a motor vehicle, and the BMW was seized, police said.

Zulfiqar will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
