Man Critically Injured In Dix Hills Crash
The man man crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer that was parked on the shoulder of the Long Island Expressway, police say.
DIX HILLS, NY — A man is in critical condition after he drove into the back of a tractor-trailer in Dix Hills early Saturday, Suffolk police said.
Koray Kurulgan, 30, of Staten Island, was driving a 2005 MINI Cooper east on the Long Island Expressway, near Exit 52, when he crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer that was parked on the right shoulder at 1:35 a.m., police said.
Kurulgan was brought to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip in critical condition, police said. The tractor-trailer driver, a 43-year-old Fort Lauderdale, Florida, resident, was not injured, police said.

The Cooper was impounded for a safety check and the tractor-trailer was inspected at the scene by Motor Carrier Safety Section officers.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
