Man Robbed After Hitching Ride From Melville Motorists: Police

A man walking in Melville was robbed and attacked after he was invited inside a car full of people Saturday morning, police say.

According to authorities, the man was walking on Broadhollow Road when several people inside the car asked him if he needed a ride at 5:20 a.m.

The man got into the car and the passengers attacked and robbed him, taking his phone and money, police say.

The people in the car then forced him out of the vehicle, police say.

No arrests have been made.
