Man Shoots Girlfriend Dead On Long Island Street: Police
BREAKING: After he shot his girlfriend multiple times, he dragged her body into his car Thursday night, police say.
DIX HILLS, NY – A 36-year-old man was arrested after he shot and killed his girlfriend on a Long Island street Thursday night, Suffolk Police said.
According to police, Eric Bermudez confronted his girlfriend, 37-year-old Regina Flecha, on Burroughs Avenue, north of Kenmore Street, in Dix Hills at about 7:30 p.m. and shot her multiple times.
Bermudez then pulled Flecha into his car and drove away from the scene, police said.

Two Third Squad detectives spotted Bermudez’s speeding vehicle on Fifth Avenue in Bay Shore and pulled over the car, police said.
The detectives then found Flecha mortally wounded inside the car, police said. Bay Shore-Brightwaters Rescue Ambulance responded to the scene and transported Flecha to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where she died a short time later.

Homicide Squad detectives have charged Bermudez with second degree murder.
Bermudez and Flecha lived together at 10 Black Pine Court in Dix Hills, police said.
