Man Steals $1.1K In Clothing From Melville Store: Police

The man stole the clothes from a Dick's Sporting Goods, police say. He is wanted for grand larceny.

MELVILLE, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in finding the man who, police said, stole clothing from a Melville store in November.

A man stole approximately $1,100 worth of Nike clothing from Dick’s Sporting Goods, at 870 Walt Whitman Road, around 9:20 a.m. on Nov. 26, police said. He drove off in a rental cargo van, police said. He is wanted for grand larceny.

Police ask anyone with information to reach Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip via phone call at 1-800-220-TIPS, using a mobile app which can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play by searching P3 Tips, or online at www.P3Tips.com. A cash reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
