Mommy and Me Yoga, Seminars, Camera Workshop for Kids and More

  1. at the  in Melville. Starts today and runs for the next three Tuesdays:  March 22, March 29, and April 5,  from 10 to 11 a.m. Mommy and Me Yoga (3-12 month old non-walking infants with parent/caregiver). Bring your little ones along, as you strengthen your mind and body. Sing, play, and laugh with your little one. Bring a blanket, and a towel or yoga mat. For safety, please register infants that are not able to walk yet. Register at 631-421-4535. Website.
  2. at the  in Melville, from 12:15 p.m.–1:15 p.m. Divorce is an unfortunate fact of life. If you are in business, it is important to understand the impact a divorce can have on your business, your partners, your customers and your privacy. This informative lecture will help you become prepared. This presentation is brought to you as a public service by the faculty from Collaborative Disputes Resolutions, www.CDRLI.com.  Latonia Early-Hubelbank, Esq., Neil S.   3. at , at 7 p.m. The Half Hollow Hills PTA Council invites parents, teachers and community members to a special presentation presented by Dr. Jeffrey Froh in the Candlewood Middle School auditorium. When asked what they want for their kids, people will likely say "happiness." But being happy is tough work. In this program participants will learn about different kinds of happiness, obstacles to becoming sustainably happier, and scientifically supported interventions for increasing a young person's happiness. In addition, time will be spent discussing the consequences of a materialistic values orientation. Dr. Jeffrey Froh is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Hofstra University. He is a NYS licensed, certified school psychologist. He serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Positive Psychology. He has presented programs nationally and has been published in Newsweek, Newsday and other media outlets. This program is FREE and is made possible through a grant by Suffolk County Legislator Steven Stern. Pre-registration is not required.   4. at the , Dix Hills branch at 7 p.m. The Suffolk County Chapter of The Embroiderers' Guild of America meets. Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month, at the Half Hollow Hills Community Library. The business meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. followed by refreshments and a lesson or demonstration. All levels are welcome, including  beginners, intermediate and advanced needleworkers The first meeting is free; Yearly dues are $45. Website. Phone: 631-423-3738.
  5. at the , Melville branch today at also April 12 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This hands-on workshop is designed to help children, grades 3-5, learn how to use their camera and take great photos.
