UPDATED Tuesday at 3 a.m: Two people were hurt, one seriously, after their vehicles were involved in a head-on crash on Straight Path Monday afternoon, police say.
According to authorities, a 56-year-old man was driving a 2005 Ford Escape southbound on Straight Path, between Fairfield Drive and Dartmouth Drive, when his car was struck by a 2003 Toyota Solara that was traveling northbound at 3:08 p.m.
Police say the Toyota, driven by a 65-year-old woman, veered into southbound traffic and collided head-on with the Ford.

The driver of the Ford was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip by Wyandanch Fire Rescue where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital was she was treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is ongoing, police say.

The crash location is just a block away from Huntington Station and Deer Park.
