Police Seek Men Involved in Dix Hills Shooting

A 27-year-old was left critically injured after someone shot him in the chest in November.

Police are looking to identify two men who were involved in a Dix Hills shooting that left a man critically injured in November.

On Nov. 20, police responded to reports of shots fired into a Melrose Avenue home and found that a man was shot in the chest after answering the door of the residence at 9:12 p.m.

Louis Speaight, 27, of Norfolk, VA, was transported to Southside Hospital by Dix Hills Fire Department Rescue where he was listed in critical condition.

Richard Schmoll, the homeowner, told Newsday a man who appeared to be in his early twenties with a mustache came by the house twice. The second time, a houseguest answered the front door and was shot through the door.
