Long Island Sanitation Worker Killed by Garbage Truck
Authorities are still investigating the Monday morning incident.

A sanitation worker was fatally hit by a garbage truck after he somehow ended up underneath the truck in Melville on Monday morning, police said.
According to authorities, Jose Molina, 44, of Brentwood, was on the back of the garbage truck and ended up getting hit by the truck when another sanitation worker was moving in reverse on Weinman Boulevard at 6 a.m.
Molina was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sanitation worker driving the truck, identified as Jose Arroyo, 38, of Central Islip, was not injured.
The truck is contracted to the Town of Huntington and owned by Jody Enterprise Inc.

Motor Carrier Safety Section officers conducted a safety inspection on the truck and it was released to the owner.
Suffolk County Police are trying to figure out how the worker ended up underneath the truck. The incident is still under investigation.
