Starbucks to Open at Former Melville Dairy Barn Location
The coffee shop will open on October, just in time for Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

A new Starbucks is set to open at the former Dairy Barn drive-thru location in Melville in October, just in time for seasonal fall drinks like Pumpkin Spice Lattes.
Starbucks Coffee Co. has signed a lease for the building at 488 Walt Whitman Road near Holland Street, which served as the location for Dairy Barn for 30 years.
About 50,000 vehicles pass this location daily, according to Sabre Real Estate Group LLC.

While there is already a Starbucks at 60 Broadhollow Road in Melville, this site is mainly for southbound traffic.
If you are in the mood for a cup of coffee but are traveling northbound, your time has come: the new store would appeal more towards the northbound traffic.

There is also a Starbucks inside the newly renovated Shops at Walt Whitman Mall, just in case you were running out of options.
Sabre, a premier retail brokerage firm serving New York’s metropolitan region, arranged the least for Starbucks.
“This site provides an excellent opportunity for Starbucks to capture the incredible volume of traffic on Route 110, which traditionally has been very strong for the brand,” Sabre vice president Russel Helbling said in a press release.
There are currently 79 Starbucks locations on Long Island and the coffee chain is looking for more. The company prefers high visibility end-cap locations and freestanding buildings with drive-through windows ranging in size from 1,500 square feet to 1,850 square feet.
