Voter's Guide: Half Hollow Hills School Budget, Board Election

What you need to know for election day.

Half Hollow Hills residents will vote on the school district’s $241,298,734 proposed budget for the 2016-17 school year on Tuesday, May 17.

The proposal calls for a 1.11 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 0.18 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state’s tax cap.

Three candidates are running for two trustee seats on the HHH Board of Education. Candidates include:

  • Eric Geringswald
  • David Kaston
  • Laraine Rudy

Residents can vote at Half Hollow Hills High School East, located at 50 Vanderbilt Parkway in Dix Hills. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
