Wallet Stolen From Purse In Melville: Police
A man distracted a staff member of La Piazza so a man and woman could swipe a wallet, police say. The cards were used at shops, police say.

MELVILLE, NY — Three people stole a wallet from a purse in Melville in October, police said, and Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help finding them.
A man was distracting a staff member at La Piazza, at 512 Walt Whitman Road, when a man and woman stole a wallet from a purse, that contained cash and credit cards, police said. The purse was hanging from a chair, police said. The theft was made at 3 p.m. Oct. 21, police said.
The credit cards were later used at Best Buy and Apple in Huntington Station, police said. The trio is wanted for grand larceny.
