Man Killed In Manhattan Motorcycle Crash, Police Say

HARLEM, NY — A 56-year-old man on a motorcycle was killed in a crash involving an SUV in Harlem, New York City Police Department officials said.

The collision happened around 1:18 a.m. on Oct. 17 at the intersection of Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard and West 139th Street, according to the NYPD.

Investigators said the man was riding a 2024 Surron electric motorcycle northbound on the boulevard when he collided with a 2021 Toyota Highlander that was traveling west on 139th Street.

The impact threw the motorcyclist to the ground, causing severe head and body injuries, police said. He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The 59-year-old SUV driver stayed at the scene and was not injured. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing, authorities said.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification, police said.
