Man, 79, Attacked On MTA Bus In Harlem, Police Say

HARLEM, NY — Police are searching for a suspect Friday after a 79-year-old man was attacked while on an MTA bus in Harlem, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the victim was on board an M4 bus near Broadway and West 135th Street on April 7 at 3:06 p.m. when a man approached him and started a disagreement.

Then, the man punched the victim several times in the face and placed his hand around the victim's neck, police said.

Then, the man got off the bus and ran away, heading uptown on Broadway, police said.

Medics took the victim to New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center in stable condition.

Police are investigating the incident and have not made any arrests yet. Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect, who was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray sweater, and a black Yankee hat.
