The arrest comes after a chaotic gunfight unfolded near West 125th Street and Amsterdam Avenue in West Harlem around 6:20 p.m.

First, a 32-year-old man opened fire on a 22-year-old, striking him twice in the chest, police said. Next, the officers jumped out of their vehicle and chased the shooter on foot — but the chaos didn’t end there.

At the same intersection, another shooter began firing at the 32-year-old suspect, and at least one officer also discharged their weapon, police said. The 32-year-old was struck during the exchange, police said.

Both the 22-year-old and the 32-year-old were taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital.

The younger man was listed in serious but stable condition, while the 32-year-old was reported stable, according to police.

Police recovered a weapon at the scene, and the NYPD’s Force Investigation Division is probing the officer-involved shooting, officials said.
