HARLEM, NY — Police are investigating Friday after a 50-year-old man was randomly slashed in the face in Harlem, New York City Police Department officials said.
According to the NYPD, the victim was in front of 304 West 117th St., between Manhattan Avenue and Frederick Douglass Boulevard, on Monday at 11:19 p.m. when the perpetrator approached him.
The perpetrator slashed him in the face with a sharp object on the left side of his face, before running away on West 117 Street toward Frederick Douglass Boulevard.
The victim was rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition, with a "severe" slash wound, police said.
Police are investigating the incident and have released surveillance photos of the suspect. The suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, a black hat, and black-and-white sneakers.
Police said no arrests have been made yet.
