HARLEM, NY — The 2026 primary elections are coming up this month in New York City, and so are all kinds of important voting deadlines.

Harlem residents are expected to turn out in big numbers since the race for Harlem's representative in Congress is at the top of the ballot.

But House contests aren’t the only thing at stake. Harlem residents will also be weighing in on the State Comptroller, as well as choosing leaders for the State Assembly.

Here’s a breakdown of what Harlem voters should know heading into Election Day.

Can I still register to vote?

Yes, but do it soon — the voter registration deadline is coming up on June 13.

What about getting a mail-in ballot?

If you are registered and want to apply for a mail-in ballot, your application must be received by the Board of Elections no later than June 13 as well.

Applications for a mail-in ballot are online, but you also have until June 22 to go to 200 Varick Street, 10 Fl, New York, NY 10014, to request a mail-in ballot in person.

Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by June 23.

When is early voting?

Early voting will take place from June 13 through June 21. Here's where to vote early.

When Is Election Day?

Primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 23, with polling places open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Find your poll site here.

Who's on the ballot in Harlem?

Along with the Congressional contest, you will also see the race for the state's Comptroller, and one of the races for the State Assembly.

Here are the candidates for races on the ballot in Harlem. The candidates who currently hold the office are labeled "incumbent."

Representative in Congress - 13th Congressional District

Member of the Assembly - 68th Assembly District

Member of the Assembly - 70th Assembly District
