HARLEM, NY — Police are searching for a suspect Thursday after a 79-year-old man was punched in the face while riding an M10 bus in Harlem, New York City Police Department officials said.
The assault happened at about 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, in front of 2059 Frederick Douglass Boulevard near West 112th Street, according to the NYPD.
Police said the 79-year-old victim was aboard the bus when a man approached him and punched him in the face, causing bruising and swelling.
EMS took the victim to Mount Sinai West, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.
The attacker fled after the assault and has not yet been arrested, police said.
Police released an image of the suspect.
