Uptown Congressman To Host Black History Month Discussion

The roundtable discussion hosted by U.S. Rep. Adriano Espaillat will feature Harlem luminaries, and be livestreamed on Facebook.

HARLEM, NY — In honor of Black History Month, an Upper Manhattan congressman is hosting an online discussion this week featuring a number of prominent faces from around Harlem.

U.S. Rep. Adriano Espaillat will hold the virtual roundtable at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18. It will be livestreamed on Facebook.

  • Kevin "K.B." Bracey, President of Harlem's Epsilon Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity
  • Hazel N. Dukes, president of the NAACP New York State Conference, member of Community Board 10
  • C. Virginia Fields, former Manhattan Borough President and founder and CEO of the National Black Leadership Commission on Health
  • Rev. Ronald E. Sullivan, pastor of the Christian Parish for Spiritual Renewal

Espaillat, a Democrat, has served in Congress since 2017, representing Harlem, Washington Heights and Inwood, and parts of the Bronx.

He succeeded longtime Congressman Charlie Rangel, whom Espaillat nearly beat in 2012 and 2014.
