Uptown Coalition Launches Vaccine Hotline For New Yorkers

People over 65 can call a new hotline to schedule a vaccine appointment at the Washington Heights Armory.

HARLEM, NY — Residents of Upper Manhattan and the South Bronx who want to get the coronavirus vaccine can call a new hotline to set up an appointment.

The hotline, bilingual in both English and Spanish, was launched this week by the Northern Manhattan Improvement Coalition. Its purpose is to schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments at the Washington Heights Armory, serving people over 65 who live in eligible ZIP codes (see below for the full list).

The hotline number is 646-838-0319. It is available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

It was set up in partnership with local elected officials, consolidating their efforts to help constituents sign up at the Armory site, which is run in partnership with the state and NewYork-Presbyterian.

"We embrace all who have lost loved ones during these challenging times and must remain vigilant in our efforts to combat this virus for good," U.S. Rep. Espaillat said in a news release about the hotline.

If callers do not reach someone right away, they should call back, Espaillat's office said.

To get a vaccine appointment through the hotline, residents must live in one of the following ZIP codes in Manhattan or the Bronx: 10026, 10027, 10029, 10030, 10031, 10032, 10033, 10034, 10035, 10037, 10039, 10040, 10451, 10452, 10453, 10454, 10455, 10456, 10459, 10460, 10461, 10462, 10463, 10464, 10465, 10472, 10473, and 10474.

Most vaccine appointments at the armory are now reserved for residents of nearby neighborhoods, after THE CITY reported that out-of-towners were flocking to the site to get their own shots.

Correction: an earlier version of this article stated that the hotline was launched by Rep. Espaillat. It was actually set up by the Northern Manhattan Improvement Coalition.
