HARRISON, NY — A traffic stop on the Hutch disrupted an apparent drug trafficking operation, according to police.
On Tuesday, at approximately 8:15 p.m., members of the Troop K Community Stabilization Unit stopped on a northbound vehicle on the Hutchinson River Parkway in the Town of Harrison.
Angel L. Sanchez, 35, of Chicopee, Massachusetts was the sole named occupant of the vehicle.
State Police K9 Vinn conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle, resulting in a positive alert for the odor of narcotics, according to NYSP. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 500 glassine envelopes containing heroin, troopers said.
Sanchez was arrested and charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
Sanchez was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Harrison Court on Oct. 20.
