The evening was filled with joy, humor, historical facts, entertainment, roasts and toasts by fellow Scarsdale Medical Group partners, including a humorous slideshow presented by Dr. Paul Pechman, on some of history’s prominent personalities  who have donned bow-ties - Dr. Lipman’s signature look.  Another partner, Dr. Kenneth Croen, informed the gathering that over the 50 years, Dr. Lipman had seen 250,000 patients and written a million prescriptions.  The roasts were followed by a musical tribute, with songs written and performed by Naomi Lipman, Dr. Lipman’s wife of 60 years, and his son, Barry Lipman.  Executive Director of the practice, Maria Trusa, remarked, “Scarsdale Medical Group is extremely proud to honor Dr. Lipman for his 50 years of dedicated service. Over the years, he has remained a staunch advocate of patients’ rights and has always put the well-being of patients first and foremost.  He is well loved by patients, colleagues, staff, and the community alike, and we all look forward to many more years of service from him.”

In addition to his clinical practice at Scarsdale Medical Group, Dr. Lipman has been writing and editing articles for Consumer Reports magazine for the last 44 years. He devotes a great deal of time and energy to community service, with roles over the years as varied as volunteer Professor of Clinical Medicine at New York Medical College in Valhalla, President of the Westchester Academy of Medicine, and member of the Board of Trustees of the U.S. Pharmacopeia and of advisory panels to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Scarsdale Medical Group has a history of providing the highest quality medical care to the community. The practice, which serves Westchester County and beyond, has grown from a two-partner office in 1957 to the internal medicine and multi-specialty practice it is today, with more than 30 physicians in Scarsdale and Harrison, New York.
