Purchase, SUNY Named Among Top Schools by Princeton Review's 2013 College Guide

Purchase College, SUNY is one of the country's leading institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review’s 2013 edition of its annual college guide, "The Best 377 Colleges." Only about 15% of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges and three colleges outside the U.S.A. are profiled in the book, which is The Princeton Review's flagship college guide. In addition to the Princeton Review, The Sierra Club ranked Purchase one of the greenest campuses in the nation; and Newsweek, partnered with College Prowler, ranked Purchase number 13 on the list of the most liberal colleges in the country.

Located 25 miles north of Manhattan, Purchase College is nationally renowned as one of the leading institutions to pair conservatory programs in the arts with liberal arts programs. Purchase College's School of the Arts includes the Conservatories of Dance, Music, and Theatre Arts, and School of Art+Design, while liberal arts and sciences programs are offered in the Schools of Film and Media Studies, Humanities, and Natural and Social Sciences, and in interdisciplinary BA programs. All professors either work professionally in their academic fields or conduct research.

“The Princeton Review confirms the fact that Purchase College is competitive in terms of academics, and a flagship school based on creativity and diversity. We are pleased to be considered one of the best higher education institutions in the United States,” said Thomas J. Schwarz, president of Purchase College. "The College is unparalleled in its compassion and commitment to helping students 'think wide open' by fostering a creative process that leads to a lifetime of intellectual growth and professional opportunity."
