Broadview at Purchase College Welcomes Life Enrichment Director
Valerie Morales brings over a decade of experience in program development

Purchase, New York – March 2026 – Broadview at Purchase College, a university-based retirement community on the campus of the State University of New York at Purchase College, has hired Valerie Morales as its new Life Enrichment Director.
With over a decade of experience designing programs that enhance the quality of life for diverse populations, Morales will work with residents to create programs that foster lifelong learning, intergenerational connection, and resident engagement.
“I am so fortunate to join Broadview where the culture of lifelong learning and intergenerational connection provides for so many opportunities to develop interesting, enriching programs. I am excited to work with the residents and staff here, who have already welcomed me so warmly to this special community,’’ said Morales.

Before coming to Broadview, Morales served as the Director of Engage Life at Atria Senior Living in Riverdale, where she specialized in operations management, team development, and creating enriching experiences to promote well-being and community connection. From her work with young adults leaving foster care to her teaching young children in Honduras, Morales' professional journey reflects a deep commitment to service across various settings. Prior to her six-and-a-half year tenure at Atria, she served as the Arts Coordinator for the Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter, Inc., where she developed arts and wellness programs for young adults. She also spent time in Honduras teaching through a community-focused nonprofit and served as a Family Counselor for the New York Council on Adoptable Children.

Broadview residents who participated in the hiring process have already expressed confidence in her leadership.
“I was very impressed with Valerie. She clearly has the educational background and experience for the position. Her prior experience as Director of Engage Life at Atria gives her a solid foundation for working with our particular community. Valerie will be a terrific addition to the Broadview family,” said Eric Rakow, Chair, Committee on Community Life Enrichment.
Morales holds a Master of Arts in Art Therapy from Hofstra University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from SUNY College at Oswego.
