Terrill Warrenburg: Edges of Light

The Harrison Public Library is pleased to present Edges of Light, a solo exhibition of paintings by Connecticut-based artist Terrill Warrenburg, on view from June 9 through July 2, 2026.

In Edges of Light, Warrenburg explores the relationship between intention and chance through a process-driven approach to abstraction. Layered washes of color, gestural marks, and accumulated surfaces create paintings that reflect movement, time, and transformation. The exhibition invites viewers to slow down and engage with subtle shifts of light, texture, and atmosphere that emerge through the artist's iterative process.

Working primarily with watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media, Warrenburg develops her paintings over extended periods, often revisiting works months or even years after their beginnings. Through pouring, staining, stamping, abrasion, and unconventional mark-making techniques, she builds surfaces that record both deliberate action and unpredictable material interactions. Everyday tools—including turkey basters, coffee frothers, and found objects—become instruments for creating complex visual languages that balance structure with spontaneity.

The title Edges of Light refers to moments of transition: where visibility meets obscurity, control meets surrender, and form emerges from uncertainty. Across the exhibition, luminous passages surface through layers of accumulated marks, suggesting memory, impermanence, and the quiet beauty found in sustained observation.

Terrill Warrenburg is an artist and independent curator based in Greenwich, Connecticut. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout the Northeast and is held in private collections across the United States.

Edges of Light will be on view at the Harrison Public Library from June 8 through July 2, 2026. Admission is free and open to the public during regular library hours.
