Charges in $308,000 Grandparent Scam in Harrison
Harrison police ended a 3-month investigation with arrests of 5 people in Texas, according to The Journal News.

Five people who conned $308,000 out of a 92-year-old Harrison woman face grand larceny charges, according to The Journal News.
The con they ran was the “grandparent scam” -- in which someone pretending to be a police officer calls an older person and says a young relative is in jail and needs bail money.
“The fact of the matter is that these people were very persuasive,” Harrison Police Chief Anthony Marraccini told reporter Rich Liebson.
