Company Interested in Blocked FASNY Site for New Golf Club
The fought-over White Plains property was once the Ridgeway Country Club.

International Hospitality Management of Rye Brook has reached out to the board of the French American School of New York and city officials about buying the former Ridgeway Country Club site and developing it into a golf club.
The Journal News reports that the company wrote to the parties earlier this month that it wanted to return the 131-acre defunct country club in White Plains to its previous use.

FASNY fought a contentious, years-long battle to develop the property into a school, but was denied by the city in August.
The school has since sued the city to get its proposal back on track, and a spokesman told The Journal News that property is not for sale. Other interests also have approached FASNY about the site’s future, he added.

“I’ve been following what’s going on, and I believe this is a solution that would be good for everyone,” IHM President Karl Hofer told The Journal News. “I have not heard back from them yet, but I plan to make a formal offer to FASNY in the very near future.”
