Jessica Calvini struck out eight Harrison batters and gave up only one run over seven innings, guiding Rye Neck to a 2-1 victory over the Huskies Wednesday afternoon.

Calvini and Nickole Morgan each had two hits and knocked in a run.

Harrison’s Alijah Webb went 1-for-3 with a run in the loss.

College Sports Notebook:

• Five Manhattanville baseball players earned Freedom Conference awards this season. Senior Dan Fiorito was named the Conference’s Player of the Year and Michael Lyon was named the Conference’s Rookie of the Year. Chris Nardozzi, Johnny LoVetere and Elias Tsouristakis of New Rochelle were each named to the All-Conference Second Team.

This week’s sports poll asks  between the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals. Yesterday the Rangers picked up a huge triple-overtime victory, beating the Washington Capitals 2-1 to steal back home ice advantage from the Capitals.
